‘Mujhse nahi dekha jaata…’: Bobby Deol Reveals WHY His Mother Prakash Kaur Could Not ‘Handle’ Animal

Ranbir Kapoor’s movie “Animal” is doing really well at the box office!

After a fantastic opening weekend, it’s still earning a lot of money every day. On Monday, it made 43.96 crores, and on Tuesday, it made slightly less with 38.25 crores.

Bobby Deol, who plays Abrar in the movie, talked about his family’s reaction to it. He said his mom, Prakash Kapur, was hesitant to watch it because it’s a violent film. He didn’t say whether other family members like Dharmendra and Sunny Deol had seen it.

Speaking with the entertainment portal PinkVilla, Bobby Deol stated, “My mom couldn’t handle my death scene. She was like, ‘Aisi film mat kiya kar tu, mujhse nahi dekha jaata (You shouldn’t do films like this, I can’t watch them).” I told her, ‘Look, I’m standing in front of you, I just played a part’. But she’s very happy… The amount of phone calls she’s getting, all her friends want to meet me. Something similar happened when Aashram released.”

The actor had also told Bolly Hungama, “My dad and my brother haven’t seen it, but everybody else has. They’re feeling exactly like the audience is reacting to me. They’re naturally biased, but they’ve always believed in me as an actor and they were waiting for the right film to come my way. My kids and my wife, I can only see happiness in their eyes. This is the first time I’ve noticed how I affect them as a father. With them, if I was happy I’d be happy, if I was sad I’d be sad, if I was angry I’d be angry… They think I’ve always deserved it, and they’ve seen my failures, and now they’re seeing my success.”

According to Sacnilk.com, Animal has witnessed a massive footfall on Tuesday as well. The film had an occupancy of 42.51% for the Hindi version of the film. It is reported that the highest occupancy is from NCR (59.75%), followed by Pune (53%) and Mumbai (43.50%). As of day 5, Animal has collected Rs 283.74 cr in India alone. This makes Animal Ranbir Kapoor’s second highest India grosser movie.

“Animal” is a big hit at the box office!

It earned more money than “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” (which came out earlier this year), which made about 149 crores. Ranbir’s biggest hit is still “Sanju” with 342 crores.

“Animal” is about a man with a messed-up relationship with his father. Ranbir plays Vijay, a bad guy who would do anything to protect his dad, even kill 200 people with a machine gun. But even then, his dad (played by Anil Kapoor) doesn’t approve of him. This messed-up relationship with his dad affects Vijay’s relationship with his wife (played by Rashmika Mandanna).

Even though “Animal” is making a lot of money, it’s caused problems. Some people on social media say it glorifies sexism and toxic masculinity. People are talking a lot about scenes like Ranbir asking Triptii Dimri to lick his shoe, making a weird comment about period pads, and being naked. Ranbir hasn’t said anything about these reactions yet.
