Manoj Bajpayee Reveals He DISLIKED Agastya And Suhana’s Film The Archies: ‘I Told My Daughter…’

New movie “The Archies” with star kids Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan is getting mixed reviews. Some like it, others say the acting isn’t great. Even famous actor Manoj Bajpayee weighed in, sharing his thoughts on the film directed by Zoya Akhtar. Now everyone’s waiting to see if the movie lives up to the hype.

Manoj Bajpayee recalled his experience of sitting down with his 11-year-old daughter, Ava, to watch The Archies. “My daughter was watching The Archies, and I told her, ‘I am not liking it.’ She was like, ‘Okay,’ and by then, I had watched it for 50 minutes. Archies is not a part of my growing-up years. My growing-up years included Motu Patlu and Ram Balram. I might have read maybe just one book of Archies, and I remember Veronica and Betty. But she was also not liking it,” Manoj told Zoom in an interview.

Manoj also shared that while he was watching The Archies, he told his daughter how she must learn to talk in Hindi like the characters shown in the film. This did not go down well with Ava. “What is your problem, dad? Please let me watch the film,” Ava responded. She also told her father that he was not spending enough family time. Manoj added, “She said, ‘You are not giving family time, papa.’ Every time I start scolding her, she scolds me in return.”

While opinions on “The Archies” are hot and heavy, two Bollywood bigwigs, Farah Khan and Raveena Tandon, have unintentionally added fuel to the fire. First, Farah “liked” a social media post mocking the young cast’s acting, despite being close friends with Suhana’s dad, Shah Rukh Khan. This raised eyebrows considering she wasn’t even at the movie’s premiere.

Adding to the drama, Raveena “accidentally” liked an Instagram post trolling Agastya and Khushi. Although she apologized, the online gossip mill went into overdrive. These incidents, whether intentional or not, are creating a buzz around the film, but whether it’s good or bad is still up for debate.

So, amidst mixed reviews of the movie itself, the star kids’ performances are now under a microscope, fueled by these social media moments. It’s definitely keeping things interesting, even if it’s not ideal for the young actors involved.
