Kangana Ranaut Takes A Dig At Vinesh Phogat After Historic Olympic Win: She Raised Slogans Against PM ‘Modi…Yet…’
Vinesh Phogat made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning her wrestling match and becoming the first Indian woman to reach the Olympic finals in this sport. She beat her opponent 5-0 and will compete for the gold medal on Wednesday, August 7.
Many Bollywood celebrities congratulated her, but actress Kangana Ranaut made a sarcastic comment. Ranaut reminded everyone that Phogat had once been part of protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ranaut’s comment implied that even though Phogat had protested against Modi, she was still given the chance to represent India and received the best training and support.
Phogat had protested against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing him of sexual harassment, along with other wrestlers like Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik.
Phogat’s journey to the final was amazing. She surprisingly beat the world champion, Yui Susaki, who hadn’t lost an international match since the Tokyo 2020 Games. She then narrowly won against Oksana Livach in the quarterfinals.
