Kangana Ranaut Gives a Fitting Reply to Sonu Sood for Justifying Food Vendor Spitting Incident and Comparing It to Ramayana

Kangana Ranaut has taken a jab at Sonu Sood after he compared a food vendor spitting on roti to the Ramayana. Known for his humanitarian work, Sonu Sood recently made headlines with his response to an incident involving a vendor in Muzaffarnagar, UP. The local police had instructed food establishments along the Kanwar Yatra route to display the names of their owners and staff to avoid confusion among devotees.

Sonu Sood criticized this instruction, arguing it could lead to discrimination, and stated,

“There should be only one nameplate on every shop: ‘HUMANITY’.” However, this sparked backlash online. A netizen shared a  video of a man spitting in a customer’s food, suggesting Sood should consume it in the name of ‘Humanity’.

This controversy escalated when BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut mocked Sood on social media.

She wrote, “Next you know Sonu ji will direct his own Ramayana based on his own personal findings about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana.”

For context, Sonu Sood had defended the vendor by drawing a parallel to Lord Ram, stating,

“Our Shri Ram Ji ate the sour berries of Shabri, so why can’t I eat them? Violence can be defeated by non-violence, my brother. Humanity must just remain intact. Jai Shri Ram.”
