Netflix Unveils Trailer for ‘IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack’

Netflix has released a trailer for its new series, ‘IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack’. The show tells the true story of the longest hijacking in India’s history, which happened in 1999. The series stars Vijay Varma, Arvind Swami, and Dia Mirza, among others.

Trailer Release and Release Date

Netflix shared the trailer with the message: “7 days. 188 lives onboard. A nation’s worst nightmare. The show will be available on Netflix starting August 29th.”

Director’s Statement

Director Anubhav Sinha talked about the challenges of making the series. He said they wanted to go beyond the information that was already available online. They spoke to people who were involved in the rescue mission and to passengers and crew members who were on the plane.

Sinha also said the story is exciting and shows the difficult choices people had to make during the hijacking. He’s proud of the actors in the show and thinks it’s a story that everyone should know.

Producer’s Statement

Producer Sanjay Routray is excited about the series too. He believes that with Anubhav Sinha directing and Netflix showing it around the world, people everywhere will see how brave the Indians were during the hijacking.
