Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan reached a milestone today, marking 32 years in the Indian film industry. His debut movie, Deewana, came out in 1992 and launched him on a successful career. While known for crowd-pleasing films, Khan has also taken on projects that surprised audiences. During the recent trailer launch of his movie Hindustani 2 in Mumbai, a reporter asked Kamal Haasan about Shah Rukh Khan on the occasion of his anniversary. The reporter also inquired if Haasan noticed any changes in Khan since his latest movie Pathaan (2023).

Kamal Haasan Shares Appreciation for Shah Rukh Khan

Kamal Haasan responded by saying he felt comfortable speaking for Khan and that they were simply colleagues when they worked together. He emphasized that they didn’t see each other as a superstar and a super director, but rather as friends. Haasan then revealed a surprising detail: Shah Rukh Khan actually acted in Hey Ram for free! He expressed his deep gratitude to Khan, stating, “What more can you ask for?” This revelation received a round of applause from the audience.

Haasan went on to explain, “Only a true fan of cinema, someone who deeply appreciates art and is a brilliant actor, would do something like that. Superstars wouldn’t normally do this.”

Humility from the Legends

On the topic of being called superstars, Kamal Haasan modestly stated, “We don’t see ourselves that way. You, the audience, give us these titles, and we humbly accept them.”

The launch event for Hindustani 2 also saw the presence of co-star Siddharth and director Shankar. There was a surprise appearance by blockbuster director Atlee, who showed his support for the upcoming action movie. Interestingly, Atlee’s most recent film, Jawan, featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
