Govinda Discharged From Hospital Days After Gun Misfire Accident | First Photos, Video

Actor Govinda was discharged from the hospital on Friday, four days after sustaining a leg injury when his revolver accidentally discharged. The 60-year-old actor, a member of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, underwent surgery on Tuesday and is currently recovering at a private facility. He was seen leaving the hospital in a wheelchair, accompanied by family members, with a cast on his left leg.

Seated in a wheelchair, he greeted his fans and expressed his gratitude to all his well-wishers.

Accompanied by his wife Sunita Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja, Govinda was seen leaving the hospital in a wheelchair, wearing a cast on his left leg. Sunita informed that he has been advised to rest for at least six weeks. She mentioned that while he will have difficulty standing, he is doing well and should be able to dance again in a few days, thanks to the prayers and blessings they’ve received.

According to PTI, Govinda said, “I thank members of the press, the authorities and my fans who love me and whose wishes kept me safe, I thank them all.”

Earlier in the day, Sunita Ahuja told reporters, “He will be discharged today. I will bring him here but he will have difficulty to stand… He is fine and will start dancing again in a few days. Everyone has prayed for him and we have the blessings of Mata rani. At home, the doctor has told him to remain on bed rest for six weeks. So, we will not allow many people because he could get infected. So, he needs to rest.”

What Had Happened?

Govinda was hospitalised on October 1 after his licensed revolver accidentally discharged, injuring his leg. Reportedly, the actor was putting the gun back in its case when a bullet struck him. He was scheduled to attend an event in Kolkata. Admitted to the hospital at 5 AM, doctors successfully removed the bullet by 6 AM. The Mumbai crime branch has determined that there was no foul play involved. Govinda has now been advised to take six weeks of bed rest for a complete recovery.
