Akshay Kumar Reveals Son, Aarav Doesn’t Live With Him And Left Home At 15 For This Reason

Renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently opened up about his son, Aarav Kumar, and shared how he left home at the age of 15 to pursue his studies abroad. Akshay, known for his stellar career in films, is married to Twinkle Khanna, with whom he has two children, Aarav and Nitara.

Apprehensions About Aarav Bhatia’s Leaving Home

In a candid conversation with cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on the show “Dhawan Karenge,” Akshay revealed his initial apprehensions about Aarav’s decision to leave home at such a young age. Despite his reservations, Akshay couldn’t hold Aarav back, as he himself had left home at 14. He said:

“My son Aarav is studying at the university in London. He left home at the age of 15. He was always fond of studying and wanted to stay alone. It was his decision to move even though I didn’t want him to go. However, I could not stop him because I left my home at the age of 14.”

Akshay praised Aarav for his independence and simplicity, highlighting that he handles all his household chores, including cooking and laundry, and prefers buying clothes from second-hand stores to avoid wastage. Akshay said:

“He does his own laundry, he is a good cook, does the utensils and doesn’t even want to buy expensive clothes. In fact, he goes to a second-hand store, Thrifty, to buy clothes because he doesn’t believe in wastage.”

Career Choices and Parental Support

Addressing Aarav’s career choices, Akshay emphasized that neither he nor Twinkle ever forced Aarav to follow in his footsteps into acting. Aarav has shown a keen interest in fashion and has expressed his disinterest in cinema. Akshay concluded:

“We never forced him to do anything; he is interested in fashion; he doesn’t want to be a part of cinema. He came to me and said that I don’t want to do films. I said this is your life, do what you want to do. I am happy the way Twinkle and I have brought up Aarav; he is a very simple boy. My daughter, on the other hand, likes clothes.”

Twinkle Khanna’s Academic Pursuits

Twinkle Khanna, who recently completed a post-graduate degree in fiction writing from Goldsmiths, University of London, humorously recalled applying to the same university as her son. She remarked on the surprise of discovering that they had both applied to the same institution.
