Kalki 2898 AD: A box office hit with Prabhas leading the charge

Prabhas’s new movie, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, is doing extremely well at the box office. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. It opened strong in India and is expected to be a big hit worldwide.

Even before it came out, there was a lot of excitement for Kalki 2898 AD. Tickets were selling really well in advance, bringing in Rs 55 crore in India alone. This is a high number, and especially impressive is that Rs 44 crore came from the Telugu version, according to a report on Sacnilk.com. This shows how popular Prabhas is among people who speak Telugu.

The movie has been filling up theaters, especially in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, 73% of seats were sold across 2,586 shows, and almost all the seats (1,871) were sold for some shows. Andhra Pradesh is similar, with 64% of seats sold across 3,188 shows, and most seats (2,100) sold out for some showings. This big turnout shows how popular the movie is and how much people were looking forward to seeing it.

While people in Telugu areas loved the movie, the response has been more mixed in other parts of India. In places where people speak Hindi, the movie only made about Rs 8.6 crore. In Delhi, there were 1,322 shows, but only 14% of the seats were sold, and just 72 shows were sold out. It’s a similar story in Maharashtra, with 2,836 shows and only 14% of seats sold, and just 143 shows sold out. Even though the response has been different in different areas, the total amount of money made in India is still a good Rs 55 crore, with a net collection of around Rs 21.17 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD is also doing well outside of India. In North America, people bought tickets in advance for a total of $3.08 million (which is about Rs 31 crore). This strong international performance shows that Indian movies are popular around the world and that Prabhas is a big star.

People are watching closely to see how much money the movie makes on its opening day worldwide. Experts in the movie business think it could be one of the top-grossing Indian opening days ever. Right now, the record is held by RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, which made Rs 223 crore on its opening day. Baahubali 2 is in second place with Rs 217 crore. Other movies that did well on opening day include KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (another Prabhas movie, Rs 158 crore), and Leo (starring Vijay, Rs 142.75 crore). If things go as expected, Kalki 2898 AD could be the third Indian movie to make more than Rs 200 crore worldwide on its opening day.

The movie also has special appearances by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur, which adds to the star power and makes it even more appealing to audiences.
