Vicky Vidya… star Triptii Dimri recalls crying for 3 days after Animal: “People were writing rubbish”
Triptii Dimri Opens Up About the Toll of Overnight Fame
Triptii Dimri, who shot to fame with her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, has revealed that the newfound stardom came with a significant personal cost. Following the film’s release, she faced a barrage of criticism, particularly for her controversial “lick my shoe” scene.
In an interview, Dimri admitted that the negativity overwhelmed her, especially after experiencing positive reception for her previous work in films like Bulbbul and Qala. She shared how the hateful comments affected her mental well-being, causing her to retreat from social media.
“I cried a lot after Animal, for at least two-three days,” Dimri confessed. “I was not used to this at all. People were writing rubbish, and you know how nasty they can get. I spoke to my sister, who told me to own it. ‘You know what you’ve done, achieved what you have achieved.'”
Dimri explained that her coping mechanism is to withdraw from conflict, making it difficult to deal with the overwhelming negativity. She added, “There was no time to sit down and process. There was so much happening, including work.”
Despite the challenges, Dimri has continued to pursue her acting career, with upcoming projects like Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Dhadak 2. Her experience serves as a reminder of the potential downsides of fame and the importance of mental health in the entertainment industry.
