Telugu Actors Condemn Minister’s Baseless Claims

Several prominent Telugu actors have strongly condemned Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for her controversial remarks linking Bharat Rashtra Samiti Chief KT Rama Rao to the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Jr NTR, Nani, and others expressed their outrage, deeming Surekha’s statements as baseless and disrespectful.

Surekha had recently made the shocking claim that KTR’s alleged interference had created disturbances within the Akkineni family, ultimately leading to the high-profile split.

Taking to Twitter, Jr NTR criticized Surekha for dragging personal lives into politics, emphasizing that public figures, particularly those in responsible positions, should uphold dignity and respect privacy. “Konda Surekha garu, dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. Public figures, especially those in responsible positions like you, must maintain dignity and respect for privacy. It’s disheartening to see baseless statements thrown around carelessly, especially about the film industry,” the RRR actor said.

Nani also expressed his disgust at politicians making irresponsible statements. He emphasized that such behavior is not acceptable, regardless of political affiliation. “Disgusting to see politicians thinking that they can get away talking any kind of nonsense. When your words can be so irresponsible it’s stupid of us to expect that you will have any responsibility for your people. It’s not just about actors or cinema. This is not abt any political party. It is not okay for someone in such a respectable position to talk such utter baseless rubbish infront of media and think that it is okay. We all should condemn such practice which will reflect poorly on our society,” Nani stated.

Nagarjuna’s wife, Amala Akkineni, also reacted to Surekha’s allegations, calling them “evil fictions” and “scandalous stories.” She expressed shock at a woman minister resorting to such tactics for political gain.

Konda Surekha’s Controversial Claims

Surekha had alleged that KT Rama Rao had demanded Samantha be sent to him in exchange for not demolishing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre. She claimed that when Samantha refused this request, it ultimately resulted in her separation from Naga Chaitanya. According to Surekha, Nagarjuna pressured Samantha to comply, but she declined, which she stated contributed to the divorce.

The N-Convention Centre, which belongs to Nagarjuna, was partially demolished on August 24, 2024, by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) for violating lake buffer zone regulations. Following this incident, Nagarjuna obtained a stay order from the High Court later that day.
