Love, Sitara Plot

The story revolves around a young successful interior designer named Tara who decides to get married to her longtime boyfriend after she learns about her pregnancy. However, she hides the truth from her partner and her family. Her sudden decision to marry shocks everyone around her initially but everyone accepts it eventually. Tara wants a proper Telugu wedding to take place in her grandmother’s home in a village. As she starts living with her family, she gets entangled in a web of secrets about her family which at first disturbs her, but then brings her courage to face the truth.

Love, Sitara Review

The family romance drama focuses on the complexities of human feelings. The Zee5 original movie effortlessly talks about the aspects of loneliness, insecurities, love, trust and truth. Though the film talks about a serious message, it fails to turn into an enjoyable watch. The slow background score makes it dull and ineffective to the storyline. On the other hand, the cinematography in certain parts manages to be delightful. The songs in the film are definitely the add-ons.

Sobhita Dhulipala plays the leading character of Tara who is very relatable and real. The actress effortlessly delivers the emotions that need to be expressed at the right time. She is the breath of fresh air in the whole movie.

Rajeev Siddhartha as Arjun delivers his best as always. The character is loveable and understandable in every aspect.

Sonali Kulkarni as Hema Chechi is one of the vital characters in the movie. She is distraught because of her life choices and portrays the character of a successful and ‘attractive woman’ who feels lonely and tries to find love in every way possible. The actress delivers a top-notch performance.

Other actors like Tamara Dsouza, Virginia Rodrigues and Sanjay Bhutiani also deliver their best but the character sketch fails to bring the best out of them.

Love, Sitara | Final Verdict

Movie Rating: 2.5/5

Sobhita Dhulipala-led romance family drama is a good watch but turns out to be boring at times. Despite the run time of 1 hour 38 minutes, the movie feels never-ending. The message and characters are powerful but not enough to make it a blockbuster. The lack of smooth transitions makes the storyline even less effective. Love, Sitara turns out to be average despite good performances.
