Was Pratyusha Benerjee Pregnant?

According to certain sources who have access to the centre, have revealed that Pratyusha had sindoor on her forehead and the name of Rahul (her fiance) tattooed on her nape. She also had ligature marks on her neck which are considered anti-mortem (prior to death).

In the same report, the consulted doctors have also pitched in their opinions. “The body did not show any struggle or injury marks externally and internally. However, the stomach did contain some greenish fluid, which has been preserved for testing. Though the fluid did not have any peculiar smell, the stomach showed signs of erosion, which could be due to ingestion of drugs, alcohol or even medicine,” said a surgeon.

In the same report published, Police Surgeon Dr. SM Patil has confirmed that the presence of such thick white fluid is indicative of pregnancy. He also said that the fluid has been sent for forensic examination.

However, according to Dr. Yogeshwar S Nandanwar, Professor and Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, LTMG Medical College, if there is no visible sack in the first 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, then only a histopathology test can confirm this. It can also be a sign of infection inside the uterus.
