When Amitabh Bachchan Praised ‘Bahu’, Aishwarya Rai For Bearing Labour Pain Without Pain-killers

Shortly after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to her daughter, Aaradhya, her father, Abhishek Bachchan, and her grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan, emerged from their Jalsa residence to address the media and discuss the new addition to their family. Big B remarked that the newborn resembled her mother, Aishwarya, closely. He stated, “I believe she looks like Aishwarya. But as you know, children’s faces change every day. However, I still maintain that she resembles Aishwarya. Some people at home think she slightly resembles Jaya or Abhishek.”

At the time, the Bachchan family had yet to decide on a name for the newborn.

Having just wrapped up the shoot of his show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan jokingly expressed his newfound free time. He quipped, “I’m unemployed right now. Kaun Banega Crorepati has ended, and I don’t have any films lined up. So, I’m jobless. I guess I’ll stay home for now.” Abhishek quickly interjected, adding that Big B would be busy taking care of his granddaughter.

Recalling the night of Aishwarya’s delivery, Big B expressed admiration for her decision to opt for a natural childbirth, refusing pain medication during labor. He narrated, “We went to the hospital on the 14th night. The doctors had informed us that the baby could arrive anytime soon. On the 16th morning, Aishwarya gave birth. It was a natural delivery, even though these days, people prefer C-sections and other options. But Aishwarya was determined to have a natural delivery. She had to struggle, but I commend her for enduring intense labor for an extended period, almost 2-3 hours. She remained persistent, insisting on a natural birth. She didn’t use any epidurals or painkillers.”

Aaradhya shares a heartwarming bond with her ‘Dada ji’. On October 11, 2021, Aishwarya shared a picture on her Instagram handle depicting her father-in-law, Amitabh, and her daughter, Aaradhya, embracing each other. The grandpa-granddaughter duo beamed with smiles as they posed for the camera. Aishwarya accompanied the picture with a loving birthday message that read, ‘HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST DARLING DADAJIII-Pa. LOVE YOUUU FOREVER AND BEYOND.’

It’s worth noting that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faced severe trolling for gaining weight after Aaradhya’s birth.
