Padman’ Actress Radhika Apte’s Mother Did Something Unique When She Got Her First Period

We still don’t understand why menstruation is considered as a taboo? Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Padman is based on a Tamil Nadu-based social activist who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.

Padman’s actress Radhika Apte revealed that her mother threw a party when she had her first period.

“My parents were doctors and so I was told that this would happen. On the day, my mother threw a party and gifted me a watch. I was crying, but stil, I got lots of gifts.”
